Portfolio Update
Quarterly Update

Equities rose during the third quarter as investors gained confidence from the U.S. Federal Reserve Board’s announcement of an open-ended QE3 program and the European Central Bank’s announcement that it would buy bonds from peripheral euro zone countries. The S&P/TSX Composite Index rose 7 percent over the quarter, led by materials, energy and health Care. The Fund benefitted in September as the commodity complex, particularly gold stocks, generated strong returns. While recent policy interventions have been an unambiguous positive for investors, the fundamental outlook for the global economy is less clear cut. As we enter the final quarter of 2012, we continue to expect volatile, policy-driven financial markets.
